GET TO KNOW YOUR JOURNAL
Good questions.
Clear answers.
What to know about Beinenu, from getting started to your next backup.
Getting started
What is Beinenu?
Beinenu is a personal and couple family purity journal. It brings together your records, a Hebrew calendar, seven clean day tracking, calculations within supported paths, reminders and selected summaries to share.
Do I need an account?
No. Normal journal use requires no name, email address, phone number or account. Administrator sign-in in Settings is for managing public content and is not needed to use the journal.
Where can I download the app?
Beinenu is available on the App Store for iPhone with iOS 15 or later. Use the download link on this site. Contact support for Android availability.
Which languages are supported?
The app supports Hebrew and English. Change the interface language in Settings. Changing the language does not change your selected halachic practice.
Does the journal work offline?
Journal records stay on your device, and local journal functions require no account or cloud sync. Downloading the app and receiving public content require a connection. Local reminders depend on your device settings and permissions.
Journal and calculations
What can I record?
Record period onset, hefsek taharah, checks, counting and actual immersion. A recorded action is separate from a date suggested by the calculator. Review your history and correct records in the app.
How do calculations work?
The calculator uses the facts you supply and rules within the supported path. Results include relevant explanations and sources. When a material fact is missing or no suitable path exists, the case remains unresolved instead of producing a guessed date.
Can I select a halachic practice?
Yes. Sephardi and Ashkenazi paths are available within the implemented rules and practices. Selection is explicit and is not inferred from language or location. This does not mean every custom or situation is covered.
Does a calculated immersion date change my status automatically?
No. A calculated date is neither a record of actual immersion nor automatic permission to immerse. The status indicator reflects your manual report. Planned dates and completed actions stay separate.
What happens with a stain, missing facts or a special situation?
Record the facts and use a suitable path where one is available. The app does not identify colors or classify a finding from a photo. Questions requiring classification or rules outside supported coverage remain unresolved. It does not provide medical diagnosis.
How do I handle travel?
Select the relevant city and time zone in the app and check them before relying on dates. There is no background location tracking. Travel situations outside supported coverage are not resolved automatically.
Privacy, sharing and backup
Where is my personal information stored?
Journal records are stored in an encrypted local vault on your device. They are not sent to our servers or Firebase. Public content connections may expose technical network information to the provider, but do not include your journal. See the privacy policy for details.
What can partners share?
In Together, select records, preview a summary and copy it. You choose what leaves the app. There is no automatic device sync, and a copied summary does not update when journal records change.
How do I back up or move to a new device?
Export an encrypted backup and safely keep its separate recovery key. Restore requires both the file and the key. After a preview, restore replaces local data rather than merging journals. We have no spare journal copy or master key.
Can I lock the app?
Yes. Enable access lock using your operating system’s authentication. The app does not receive or store the biometric data itself.
Reminders and support
How do I enable reminders?
Enable reminders in the app and allow notifications in device settings. Reminders are created locally for supported paths. Check permissions, Focus mode and notification settings if a reminder does not appear.
How do I contact support?
Use the feedback form in the app’s Settings or email support. Include app version, operating system, steps you took and expected behavior. Do not include intimate journal records, passwords or recovery keys.
